There are many different areas of the tournament that require volunteer assistance. If there is an aspect of the tournament that you would like to volunteer.
Announcers: From way up high or at rink level, the announcer makes the games fun. They are responsible for playing music and announcements during whistle breaks and intermissions. They are also responsible for informing the crowd of players in the penalty box and who scored the goals.
Awards: This is a very important part of the tournament, as these volunteers assist the Awards Director with deciding who wins the various awards that are presented to the players. Jobs included in this area are marking player stats, plus /minus and deciding game mvps.
Rink Finance: This volunteer position includes counting money, and ensuring the cash statements are accurate at the end of the day. As well, you over-see the Ticket Sellers & program sellers and provide them with a float and shift cash out.
Media: Media volunteers assist with updating social media sites throughout the game. With one of the best spots in the arena, announcements of goals and penalties are reported. This position is an important part of the tournament, as it provides updates for player’s families who are unable to attend the event.
Off-Ice: Work off-ice includes important positions like time keeping, score keeping, and shots on net. Although shots on net is not always exciting, it keeps you close to the game.
50/50 Coordinator: This position is responsible for monitoring the 50/50 sales. It includes ensuring the sellers are visible and selling, counting money they have collected, and ensuring the electronic database is up to date. Sometimes, a bit of technical trouble shooting is required, as the electronic system can be picky.
